History
Friedensruh is a Mennonite village southeast of Winkler, approximately 3 miles south of Reinfeld. While Friedensruh is not one of the original Mennonite villages, its history dates to before the 1900's.
Its name means "place of rest". Friedensruh was a familiar name residents had used in Russia and transferred to their new homeland.
