Parks & Recreation - Thornhill Community Center

The Thornhill Community Hall was built to commemorate the vetrans who served in World War I (1914-1918). The community worked together to sell shares, for the purpose of building a community hall in 1919. Thornhill Community Hall officially opened July 22 1920, plumbing was added in 1979, with municipal water hookup in December 2009.
The Thornhill memorial curling rink was built to commemorate the veterans who served in World War II (1939-1945) The rink was built 1946, opened in 1947. the curling rink was in use until 1974 when it was sold and torn down. A cairn was erected on part of the curling rink property.
